Young observers preparing for the total solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 on a hill above Nahavand, Hamadan Province, northwestern Iran. The Moon's shadow arrived after passing through western Europe, crossed Iran from northwest to southeast and crossed through Pakistan into India where the monsoon season made observing the eclipse impossible there.
